Buying a New Puppy?

Do not buy ANY puppy unless it has had a bile acids test done.
A very simple liver enzyme blood panel will tell you if there is a problem with the Bile Acids. If there is a problem, the
breeder should follow with a pre-post Bile Acid Fasting Test. This test is run before and after eating. Insist on a copy
of the results of the test.

Liver Shunt is running rampant in many breeds of dogs right now, and Liver Shunt diagnosis amongst the Biewer
Terriers are on the rise. Don't suffer the heartbreak and incredible financial expense of finding you have purchased a
Liver Shunt puppy. Insist that this test be run prior to putting a deposit on the puppy. Any RESPONSIBLE,
ETHICAL breeder will be more than happy to have their veterinarian run this very simple blood test on their puppies.
If they do not or will not do not purchase that puppy.
