The IBC in Germany accepts the BBIR registry.
Biewer acceptance achieved by the BBCI into the Canine Eye
Registry Foundation (CERF)
Biewer acceptance achieved by the BBCI into the Orthopedic
Foundation for Animals (OFA)
April 2008: BBCI launched their
own Health Registry
May 2008: BBCI participated in
Genetic Study on Piebald Coat Color, University of Saskatchewan,
International Genetic Conference in France. With Dr. Schmutz Piebald gene in the Biewer is identified and confirmed.
October 2008: Name change
accepted to Biewer Breed Club of America (BBCA). Per AKC
suggestion to have "America" in the Club name.
Incorporation status has been completed.
As of October 2008 over 600 Biewers are in the BBIR database.
2007
March 2007: Breed
recognition gained into the Rare Breed network by the BBCI.
May 2007: Breed Recognition
gained into the National Canine Association by the BBCI
July 2007: BBCI and BBIR breed
information packages sent to IABCA, NAKC AND RBCSWO for
acceptance. Biewer and standard is accepted.
August 2007: BBCI club acceptance
into the RVD/UCI in Germany. We are the first Biewer Club
to achieve this privilege.
December 2007: MMI Genomics was
chosen as the DNA Laboratory of choice for the BBIR Registry.
2006
March 2006: NBCA website
opened. First online meeting of the board of National
Biewer Club of America called to order.
April 2006: First
representatives from the NBCA attending and showing in a IABCA
dog show in Lexington, Kentucky.
May 2006: Contacted AKC/FSS to
inquire about Breed Recognition
October 2006: Restructuring of
the NBCA Club's name changed to "Biewer Breed Club
International" to include members from all over the world.
November 2006: First DNA samples
submitted to the University of California at Davis, for breed
study.
December 2006: Biewer Breed
International Registry (BBIR) studbook started.
